For more information, contact: ATPI ANNOUNCES ELECTION OF 2003 OFFICERS AND TRUSTEESWASHINGTON, DC - The American Tax Policy Institute (ATPI) is pleased to announce the election of its new Officers and Trustees for 2003, including Ronald A. Pearlman as President and Dr. Rudolph G. Penner as Vice President. Pearlman is a Professor of Law at the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC and a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Tax Policy and Chief of Staff of the Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation. Penner is a Senior Fellow at the Urban Institute in Washington, DC and a former Director of the Congressional Budget Office. The other officers continuing their terms in 2003 are Elaine K. Church, Treasurer, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Washington, DC, and Prof. Jonathan B. Forman, Secretary, University of Oklahoma College of Law, Oklahoma City, OK. Four tax professionals were elected as new members of the ATPI Board of Trustees: Fred T. Goldberg, Jr., Skadden Arps Slate Meagher &Flom, LLP, Washington, DC; Robert A. Jacobs, Milbank, Tweed, Hadley &McCloy LLP, New York, NY; Richard M. Lipton, Baker &McKenzie, Chicago, IL; Michael J. Murphy, Sutherland, Asbill &Brennan, Washington, DC; and Pam Pecarich, Consultant, AICPA Tax Executive Committee, Ventura, CA. Five individuals were re-elected for additional terms as ATPI Trustees: Prof. Daniel Halperin, Harvard Law School, Cambridge, MA; Prof. Annette Nellen, San Jose State University School College of Business, San Jose, CA; Douglas P. Stives, The Curchin Group, Red Bank, NJ; and William J. Wilkins, Wilmer, Cutler &Pickering, Washington, DC. Re-elected for a one-year term was Paul J. Sax, Orrick, Herrington &Sutcliffe, LLP, San Francisco, CA.
